Christmas at home with Dahlia.....I need a nap :)

Have you ever noticed that we spend weeks and weeks buying the perfect presents. Then on Christmas Morning it takes only a matter of about 45 minutes to totally decimate the perfect wrapping paper to reach the goodies inside? Imagine my house with four kids!! Eeep! They were eyeing them from six am but they were nice enough to let me sleep until about eight am. After that the noise in the hallway was conspiciously made up. From the coughing fits, to the oops I dropped something said really loudly. I was beginning to think they were throwing bricks at my bedroom door...Yeah I knew it was time to wake up (laugh).
I had the foresight to set the coffee maker from the night before. (All hail the elixir of life...caffiene!!) To deal with what was coming I had to infuse with blessed coffee. They attacked each gift like predators in the wild taking down their prey. I watched them destroy all my hard work wrapping each gift with upmost care but there was a big smile on my face. Why? because thier squeals of pleasure and hearing "Mom this is the best Christmas ever!" was gift enough for me to do it again and again for years to come until they are adults.. Even then I just might try to recreate Chirstmas morning for my babies. They might be the children of the corn, but bless them I love all down to every last strand of hair on their heads :)

I have attached a few pics of our morning festivities for you to see. Ok please be fore warned that Dahlia did not get up to put on her face before the pic was taken so..Please be gentle. LOL and do not go screaming into the night...

Merry Christmas my groovy guys and dolls...

Santa Knows I've been Naughty! He Love me Anyway!!

Ahhhh christmas...I'm making my list and checking it twice as I make a batch of rum punch. I'm from the islands and it just isn't christmas without homemade rum punch. It is garaunteed to make even the scrogiest family memeber get up and dance for the holidays. I'd share the recipe but it's a family secret. (My mom's of course) And she threatens if it is ever revealed like the secret of her chicken. That I will be disowned. LOL

Mom's new way of trying to find out what I got her for Christmas is one of guilt. 'I'm not a young woman anymore, who says I have Christmas put away in my pocket?"
Sorry to tell you mom but ou are 55 and you are not going anywhere for a long time. you can open the gift like everyone else on Christmas Morning.

Well back ot my List of things I want for Christmas. I always find that I get perfumes that smell awful from my kids. I know they are trying but mom does not want to smell like mint juleps. And my poor soon to be hubby has some ideas but he always reverts back to his good ol' Victoria Secret gift card. Let's just say I own three drawers of Lingerie. I'm starting to think these gift are for him more than me..LOL

So! Here is my letter to Santa this year

Dear Santa;
You know I've been naughty. I wouldn't be me if I wasn't. And on a good note I have cut down my pillaging and flaying to almost nil this year. I have been as good as I could be except those lavacious thoughts that run through my head (Hey I write erotica for a living santa.I need those those thoughts)

Any hooooo... Here is what I want for Christmas...

Gerard butler laying in my bed on with a big smile on his face and a big bow on his...ahem..sorry that was one of those wayward thoughts.

There is a whole lot of books I want for Christmas so Santa please send me some book store gift cards.

A new pink bathrobe from bath and body works.

Wonderful smellies from bath and body works as well.. (Sorry kids mommy need actual stuff she can wear)

A pair of red stiletto boots. (cause santa knows I need those for the New years eve Bash)..

See I am not so hard to shop for. Mix my love of reading and bath and body works and shoes. Yes Rob you can still buy me the VS gift card if you must.

I myself have done my shopping for my family an close friends. whom I love dearly and I cannot wait to see their faces when they open their gifts.

To every one coment back and let me know your best and worst Christmas gift ever and what you REALLY want this year.

Smooches...Merry Christmas to all and to all a good bite :)

Author Jordana Ryan is on the blog!

1: Dahlia: Welcome to the blog Jordana! Would you tell us how your writing career took off?

Hi Dahlia, My writing career took off with an unfortunate personal circumstance. I had back surgery and was unable to return to my job with adolescent offenders in a maximum security facility. I was bound and determined to not let the time pass unproductively. I searched my heart for what I really wanted to do and that was write. I started with a book called Loving Dakota. But after joining many critique groups I found that this was not the novel that really called to me. I started writing No Matter What and it really just took a hold of me. When I finished writing it, I started submitting and was given my contract on No Matter What at that point.

2: Dahlia: Your book No Matter What is a compelling story. Could you tell us more about it?

No Matter What is the story of Brenden and Cassandra. Cassandra left Indigo with a big secret when she was seventeen years old. After living a sordid life for four years, she’s ready to own up to her mistakes. She comes back to Indigo with her 3 year old daughter. When Brenden sees her, he is torn between loving her and hating her. Although, she is the love of his life there is a lot that needs to be forgiven. Cassandra and Brenden fight their demons but will there be a happily ever outcome in their future?

3: Dahlia: The story line is different to what we are seeing in books lately. It deals with more real world issues like pregnancy and HIV. How did you come up with the story line and what message were you trying to get across to the readers?

I think the message I wanted to give was that everyone deserves a second chance. People do things every day that maybe they are not proud of, or they feel can’t be taken back. It’s true that the action can’t be taken back but it is possible to be forgiven. I also really wanted to make this realistic. Brenden and Cass faced a lot of obstacles that are very real in this world. I wanted to send a message that love and persistence can help a person to overcome even the most horrible of circumstances.

4: Dahlia: Do you have any upcoming releases we should know about and where can we find them?

My book of poetry title Uncensored Emotions is coming very soon from Amira Press. This is a book that is close to my heart because I started with writing poetry and it has been my passion for many years. The title reflects the poetry, it really is an uncensored look at me as a person and my feelings. I tackle a lot of tough issues in my poems and I think that makes them really stand out. You can get this book at www.amirapress.com Hopefully in the next week or two. Also, I have a short story in the Amira Press Meant to be Anthology called Summer Fling. It was my first short story and something I am really proud of. You can pick that anthology up in June at www.amirapress.com. Finally, my erotic short story, The Wrong Woman is undergoing edits now and should be available through Amira Press Simply Erotic by Summers end.

5: Dahlia: Jordana give us a sneak peek to what you are working on now?

My next novel is called Perfect Game and this is a novel that is very close to my heart. Jessie Kirk has never had love. Her mother was a self-centered woman who had a hard time putting others above herself. When she passes away Jessie makes the decision to get to know her father who has been absent most of her life. Trevor can’t believe she’s there. The last time she came to Santa Fe for a visit she had caused nothing but trouble. But he had seen behind the little girls antics to the lonely person inside. At twenty years old, she’s more mature and she’s beautiful. When he faces a career ending injury, Jessie and Trevor find themselves thrown together. With her he can show her a side of him that other’s don’t see. When he falls in love with the coach’s daughter, will he find that love means more to him than chasing that Perfect Game?

6: Dahlia: Where are you from and are any of your books based in your home town?

I am from St. Louis Missouri and as of yet I have no novels based here, but I haven’t counted out my hometown yet!

7: Dahlia: What are some of the goals you have set for yourself in your writing career?

My first goal is to write because I love it. To fulfill my passion I will write regardless of what happens in my career. Second, my goal is to touch people with my novels. I will always be true to myself and who I am with my writing and give my readers a story that comes straight from my heart.

8: Dahlia: What scenes in your books that you find difficult to write?

Love Scenes are difficult for me to write. I want to write what is appealing to my readers so sometimes I over think the love scenes.

9: Dahlia: What would we find you doing behind the scenes Jordana to relax and get away from writing for a bit?

Playing with my daughter usually. I have a 5 year old that is very active and kicking back to relax usually means doing something special with her. If it’s just Jordana Time you can find me baking, exercising, scrapbooking, reading or playing my playstation. I have a lot of hobbies and I try to give them all some attention each week J

10: Dahlia: I have read your books and they are very romantic and expressive. Plus it lets you know that they are a lot of bumps in relationships. Will all your books be based on this style of writing?

I think that all of my romance novels will be based on this style of writing. I tend to write reality. Though I am a fan of happily ever after and smooth roads, life isn’t like that so I find it hard to write that. But I do also have a few other genres I write so I think readers can get a little of everything from me.

11: Dahlia: What do you think is the sexiest spot on a man’s body?

LOL that is a good question. I think it’s the belly button. There’s nothing sexier than a man’s tummy!

12: Dahlia: If you could have one hot guy for a day to do your bidding who would it be and what will he be doing?

Elvis Presely (I know he’s dead) LOL if it were a live person it would have to be George Clooney. I think breakfast in bed would be a great start! Then a nice massage followed by a day at a theme park riding every ride with me LOL Lame I know but I’m easy to please.

13: Dahlia: Who are some of your favorite writers? Do you find it hard to get personal time for reading between your writing schedule?

My favorite Writers are Rosanne Bittner, Cassie Edwards, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Johanna Lindsey and Sandra Brown. It is definitely hard to read sometimes but when I get writers block that is a great way of pushing past it. I try to take time to read at least a chapter a night. Even if it is at 1 in the morning. Reading is as essential to me as writing!

14: Dahlia: Jordana tell us three things that you could not live without?

My Daughter, My Computer and My Ipod

15: Dahlia: Tell us where we could find out more about, any contest you have going on and your books.

I have a Yahoo Group http://groups.yahoo.com/group/JordanaRyan/ And also my myspace. It’s www.myspace.com/PrincessCheygirl. Once I know that I have some readers out there active in those lists I will be doing at least weekly update posts and contests as well!

Thank you for having me Dahlia!

That guys and dolls was the author of “No Matter What” Jordana Ryan. This lady is bringing romance back with a worldly feel that everyone can relate to. Check out her books and you won’t be disappointed!
Until next week luvvies!

Author Interview With Kiera Black!

1: Dahlia: Welcome to the blog Kiera! Tell us how your journey into the writing world began?

Actually, I’d had a dream about these characters several days running and they were quietly driving me insane. When I couldn’t find a book to read that would shut them out, the DH told me that maybe I should write their story down. I never looked back after that.

2: Dahlia: Your book currently out The Protector Destiny is out now! Could you tell us more about it?

Sure, Elizabeth is a writer. She writes about the eternal battle between werewolves and vampires. Sam is the ultimate Alpha wolf, king of the Loup-garou. He reads one of Elizabeth’s books and knows he needs to find out who she is because she knows entirely too much about their plight. Once they meet, all hell breaks loose… LOL

Here’s the official blurb and you can read an excerpt on my website where there is a purchase link if you’re interested in it:

What happens when an independent, strong-willed woman meets an alpha male? Now imagine their meeting occurs while Elizabeth Winters is under attack. Her assailant is among the undead, a vampire: the most feared and reviled of Earth's legendary creatures. Intent on coming to her rescue is Samuel Woods, the leader of his people and Elizabeth's one true mate. She is the Protector's destiny. Together they stand between the undead and the enslavement of all mankind.
They are members of the Loup-garou, modern-day werewolves, destined to protect humanity from vampires, while roaming the world in search of their other half. From the mountains of Upstate New York, to the Saskatchewan region of Canada, Sam and Elizabeth find themselves battling not only the undead, but traitors from within. Can they find the traitors in time, or will an ancient enemy destroy their love before it even begins?

3: Dahlia: I know the book is going to be a series. How many will there be and when is the next one due to be released? Can you give us a sneak peek into book two?

Well, so far there is three written and scheduled for publication. Depending on how the sales are, and if readers want it, there will definitely be a fourth story and I have ideas for several others as well. The Protector’s Jewel is scheduled for release in September, and The Protector’s Keeper is scheduled for release in December.

Here’s the prologue for The Protector’s Jewel but keep in mind it’s still unedited…

Prologue

Out of breath and virtually out of options, Anna bent down and gathered her daughter in her arms. How could she tell her precious child goodbye? How could she not? No other way existed, not if Alyssa was to live through the night.
“When I say run, I want you to head into those trees over there, sweetie.” She tried to keep the terror, the sorrow from her voice. For her daughter's sake, she needed to remain strong and in control for just a few more minutes.
“But momma, I...”
“Promise me, Alyssa. No matter what you hear, or see, you'll stay hidden in those trees until daybreak. Promise me.”
Alyssa clung to her mother’s arm and began to argue, but Anna stopped her. “Please, do this for me, baby.”
“Okay, momma.”
“And you remember who to contact if we get separated, right?”
“Yes, momma.”
“Good. I love you, baby.” Anna clutched her daughter to her breast. She needed to show Alyssa how very much she and cherished her daughter, wanted to feel her girl in her arms one last time.
Time had run out. She needed to get her daughter to safety. All that mattered was her little girl’s life. With tears trailing down her cheeks, Anna kissed Alyssa one last time before gently shoving her toward the safety of the woods.
“Now, baby. Go! Run! Run into those trees and don’t look back.”
Anna watched her hurry into the woodland. She only regretted one thing. She wouldn’t live to see her baby grow into womanhood. In fact, she didn’t expect to live through the night. She only hoped that Alyssa would stay hidden until dawn, until it was safe.
Anna continued to stare into the woods long after Alyssa disappeared from view. She felt the evil one closing in but couldn’t pull her gaze away from where she’d last seen Alyssa. Not yet. There were precious few moments left and she needed to use them wisely. After one last prayer for Alyssa’s safety, Anna focused all her attention within to release her inner beast.
The change came quickly, as though her other self knew time grew short. The world hung suspended for just a moment as though Father Time waited to witness what was about to unfold.
A wrenching in her spine caused the muscles to spasm. Then bones popped and snapped as Anna’s arms and legs shifted and changed, forcing her to drop down to all fours. Her mouth and nose changed into a lupine muzzle, hands and feet became paws, and a glossy black pelt covered her smooth skin.
Born of an ancient race known as the loup-garou, or commonly referred to as Weres, Anna was about to face her people’s most feared enemy. The Vampire. From the beginning of time, vampires stalked and hunted the werewolf population. Many Weres went into hiding, while others placed themselves in harm’s way by becoming Protectors, defending not only their kind but also the human population.

4: Dahlia: What are you currently working on now Kiera?

Two things really, besides the edits for The Protector’s Jewel. I’m working on Draco’s Choice, an urban dragon shifter/vamp story. You can read the blurb for it on my website, and I’m also working on my first erotic romance, Seducing Serena. It’s a shifter ménage. This one will be a short to test the waters so to speak, but I’m hoping once it’s finished my agent will find a home for it. Same with Draco’s choice, actually.

5: Dahlia: I have been dallying around in your website and I read your bio. You have moved around a lot, does this give you in insight when you are choosing the setting for your books?

Oh sure. Living as many places as I did, it’s a bit easier coming up with settings for my characters. I’ve lived in foreign countries, big cities, tiny towns, villages and even military bases, by the beach and up in the mountains. All those locations are definitely fodder for my imagination.

6: Dahlia: Do you only write in the paranormal genre? Is their a new genre you would like to try?

Well, so far The Protector’s Series is paranormal romance. A shifter/vamp sort of paranormal. I’d like to try my hand at maybe writing some urban paranormal/gothic or sci-fi/futuristic and I definitely want to write a little steamier too. But, I can’t see myself writing straight contemporary or historical.

7: Dahlia: What are some of the goals you have set for yourself in your writing career?

Well, my only real goal was to get published. I’d love to see my books in paper, but even e-book meets that one goal I’d set for myself. To me, it’s telling the story that is the most important reason I write. But, I sure wouldn’t turn down a million dollar deal… LOL

8: Dahlia: What scenes in your books that you find difficult to write?

Sex scenes, definitely. I blush all the way through. And forget writing them if the DH is in the house. It ain’t happening… LOL

9: Dahlia: What would we find you doing behind the scenes Kiera, what does a day of relaxation look like for you?

Wow… I don’t know if I can remember what that is. LOL… Seriously, a day of relaxation is a day where I can just kick my feet up in the recliner, have a stack of two or three books to read, a coke sitting next to me with the radio playing in the background. To tell you the truth, I get one of these every time I get a new Christine Feehan book, or any of the other auto buys. I have no patience, so I wait for the mail carrier, attack him at the door, then lock myself in the apartment until I finish the book, pushing house work and deadlines to the bottom of my priority list.

10: Dahlia: I have read some of your book and it is very thrilling and sensual. Where did the inspiration for The Protector Series come from?

My dreams really. I read many shifter and vamp stories—heck a lot of paranormal all together—and I dreamed the basic plot of this one. After that, I had no choice but to write it because the characters were so real and alive to me at that point.

11: Dahlia: What do you think is the sexiest spot on a man’s body? J

I’d love to be all PC about this and say his smile, but it wouldn’t be the truth. His butt, definitely a man’s butt is what gets my attention first.

12: Dahlia: If you could have one hot guy for a day to do your bidding who would it be and what will he be doing?

Oh heck, only one? Pierce Brosnan. And honestly, I’d have him scrubbing the tub and all the other household chores that would allow me to ogle his behind…

13: Dahlia: Who are some of your favorite writers? Do you find it hard to get personal time for reading between your writing schedule?

There are so many. On my keeper shelves I have: Christine Feehan, Sherrilyn Kenyon, Janet Chapman, Nora Roberts, Kay Hooper, Catherine Coulter, Jory Strong, Lauren Dane, Tianna Xander, Bonnie Rose Leigh, Linda Howard, Robin Owens, Angela Knight, and I’ve recently added Jacquelyn Frank. I’m sure there are a bunch I’m forgetting though.

For my favorites... I make the time. For new books, or authors, I try to read at least a couple books a week into my schedule.

14: Dahlia: Kiera tell us three things that you could not live without?

My laptop, my personal library, and Coca Cola…

15: Dahlia: Where we can find out more about, any contest you have going on and your books.

Sylvia Hubbard Interview!!!

Sylvia Hubbard is a an author with tons of "Oooomph" in her books. She graciously gave us an interview and here is what she had to say!

1: Dahlia: Today on the blog we have Sylvia Hubbard! Welcome and tell us more about yourself and your start in writing

I use to lie to my mother all the time and she’d make me write it down. This punishment turned to pleasure and I knew by the time I was 12 that I wanted to be a writer.
To date, I’ve independently published 4 paperback books and over 10 e-books. My foundation genre has always been romance, but I have ventured into suspense, erotic, mystery, paranormal and I/R. Always urban and contemporary styled, I’ve acquired a large readership from my hard working Internet skills from all over the world.

2: Dahlia: Sylvia you are a Detroit native, are any of your books based on your hometown?

Moved to Detroit when I was seven from Ecorse, Michigan. And I’ve loved this city since then. All but two. My first novel I ever completed Stone's Revenge is based in a small suburb called Davenport, Ohio. And then Bestselling Author, Nobia Bryant asked me to write in the Urban Legend anthology based in New Jersey. Since I'd never been to New Jersey after several emails between us, I was able to construct a suspense urban erotic called Sweet Justice.

3: Dahlia: What books do you have out now for the readers?

My upcoming book in August of 2007 will be Secrets, Lies & Family Ties. It’s about Ezekiel Chambers wanting to have as much success in his personal life as he has in his business life, but his father is doing anything and everything to sabotage it. He’s convinced by friends to go to his high school reunion and meets a mysterious woman who he can’t stop wanting. Grae happens to be the woman and she’s given the opportunity to sleep with Ezekiel whom she’s been in love with since high school with no strings attached. But perfect opportunities soon turn to perfect wickedness.
It’s a follow up to Mistaken Identity and I bring the twins back because the readers loved that the most.

4: Dahlia: Could you give us a sneak peek into a work in Progress from you or what you have coming soon for release?

Currently I’m doing a book called Sex Weed and it’s not for the faint of heart. Here’s the first couple of paragraphs of the book:
Pressing deep into her, his shaft pulsed and it took all his control to not come again, but she felt so damn good. There was just something about morally wrong sex that turned Dyson Peare on and the more he had of her body, the more he wanted her. It was the second time that day he had given in to his lust, this time right across his desk where he drove deep into her knowing the wood was going to tear her back up, but she didn’t seem to care and he was so oblivious, he didn’t care either.
She licked his ear, nibbled voraciously at his neck and then gyrated her body under him widening her legs and moving him even deeper. Her breathless sighs of pleasure aroused him and then she bit her lip to make sure she was quiet knowing he didn’t like noise. Her light cinnamon eyes closed and she trembled.
It was beautiful to watch her orgasm, but he forced himself to look away, yet her nails digging in his back and her snatch practically suckling against his manhood made him very aware of her presence despite how quiet she tried to be.

5: Dahlia: Stone’s Revenge is an excellent book; the plot catches you from the very beginning. How did you come up with the idea for such an intriguing storyline?

Stone started to formulate in my head back when J. Dahmer was arrested. My dad was a PBS nut and would watch every documentary about serial killers. I think they ran the A to Z to American and European Serial Killer series, LOL, and I started to wonder what happens to people who are affected by these killers - The family members and such. How do they have normal and what is normal to them? William began to grow and become more and more real. I think I wrote the first draft in less than two months. He was a force to be reckon with and his character leapt off the page.

6: Dahlia: Is being a writer your full time job. If not what other hats do you wear?

My benefit job is for the City of Detroit. I use to be a crime reporter for the Detroit Police, but I transferred to their 311 unit and answer calls for the city for over 80 different departments. I am also the founder of Motown Writers Network, Michigan Literary Network and The African American Electronic Literary Network. I am also an independent publisher and have a literary service to help writers get to where they want to be called HubBooks.

7: Dahlia: What are some of the goals you have set for yourself in your writing career?

To have one best seller in the next two years and I would love to have one of my books in a film and a stage play. And then I’ll end my career when I win an Oscar for original story.

8: Dahlia: What scenes in your books that you find difficult to write?

Description. I’m an action and dialogue fan and when I have to go into detail about how things look I get bored and frustrated. I carry a thesaurus every where I go and I cut out pictures of rooms and colors and faces to help.

9: Dahlia: What role does your family play in your writing career? Do they support your decision to be an author and have they read your books?

I think they’re just waiting for the money to start rolling in so they can live off me. LOL. … Seriously though, I know my mother supports me and believes in me and my children help a lot when I go to places and understand this is my dream and my passion.

10: Dahlia: I know being an author can be very stressful at time. How do you take time for yourself and relax?

Relax? Ha! Writing is my stressful remedy and working at my benefit job is my vacation.

11: Dahlia: What do you think is the sexiest spot on a man’s body? J

His shoulders and neck. I like something I can rest my thighs on.

12: Dahlia: Which do you prefer on a guy Boxers or Briefs?

Boxers. He has more room to get it out faster.

13: Dahlia: Who are some of your favorite writers? Do you find it hard to get personal time for reading between your writing schedule?

Actually no. Right now I’m reading Creepin’ by Monica Jackson, LA Banks and others and Between My Thighs by Naija. I love reading as much as I love writing.
I love a good story and I’ll read anything I can get my hands on. I don’t have a best author of all time though.

14: Dahlia: Sylvia tell us three things that you could not live without?

Writing utensils, DVD’s and cotton Candy.

Interview with Zinnia Hope

Guys and Dolls Look whose here! Zinnia Hope has a great interview with us! Read on on what this author has to say!

1: Dahlia: Welcome to the blog Zinnia! Would you tell us how your writing career took off?

My very first publications were in small literary magazines and some YA publications. Golly, that's been ages ago. I sold my first story for an actual paycheck to a Christian magazine for young teens and still have a copy of the check framed and on my wall.

Now fast forward several years. One day I was emailing back and forth with a creative writing instructor who's a friend of mine. I was grumbling about how hard it is to crack professional short story markets. He suggested that I try writing for men's magazines. Although men's markets, ie Penthouse and and the like, are just as tough to crack, he insisted I had what it takes to write such material and succeed. He showed me a few examples of his published work in such markets, so I studied his stories and wrote my first one. I submitted the story and sold it on my first try. It debuted in Gent.

Later down the road, I began writing material for e-publishers while looking for my next literary agent.

2: Dahlia: Where were some of the first places that the readers could read your work?

Touch Magazine is the YA Christian Mag I mentioned earlier, then there were several tiny publications such as Moxie Magazine, DeadMule.com, etc. These were followed by selling work to Gent and Hustler's Busty Beauties when I managed to get into the pro men's mags. I began selling to a few pro online markets too such as Would That It Were.com (closed now) which is historical sci-fi.

3: Dahlia: You have a novel coming soon called “Ruby, The White King and Marilyn Monroe.” The Title alone has caught my interest. Tell us more about it?

That's a tentative title right now. It's a wild romp from the Midwest to Key West. A woman, Ruby, picks up a hitchhiker, who turns out to be nothing but trouble. Throw in weird visions, a dog who thinks he's Ruby's spirit guide, a sexy guy who curls Ruby's toes, a biker couple, and one mishap after another as Ruby tries to solve the secret of her visions.

4: Dahlia: Do you have any new releases we should know about and where can we find them?

The Red Storm is a romantic sci-fi mystery that recently debuted April 28th at Lavender Isis Press. http://lavenderisis.com/theredstormbuy.html

5: Dahlia: Zinnia can you tell us what you are working on now?

Well, I have about 20K words left to do on my Ruby/White King novel. I'm also writing something targeted for Ellora's Cave called The Darkness of Sable, which is a paranormal thriller and involves an IR romance. I have a rough outline for Thorn of Ebon that's book II of The Daughter's of Trinity Series at Freya's Bower. I'm also finishing up some short stories for a collection that is under consideration.

6: Dahlia: Tell us what books you currently have out for the readers to enjoy?

At Freya's Bower, there are four titles: Free Spirits, The Sexual Science of Witchery, Conspiracy of Angels, and Honeysuckle and Wild Roses. I have Visiting Donna Dee at Amira Press.com and The Red Storm at Lavenderisis.com.

7: Dahlia: What are some of the goals you have set for yourself in your writing career?

To finish all my WIPs, lol!

8: Dahlia: Is there any scenes in your books that you find difficult to write?

Yes, the graphic sex scenes in my sizzling titles are tough to write because they bore me to death. I've been writing sex fiction for so long that I just cringe if I have to write such a scene. There are only so many ways a writer can present a sex scene without it becoming redundant and finding ways to present them in an erotic way without it coming across as purple prose or disgusting is tricky to do at times.

9: Dahlia: Behind the scenes Zinnia when the computer is off and your day is done. What would we find you doing?

Enjoying my husband's company and playing with our toddler.

10: Dahlia: Your love scenes are scorching Zinnia! Where do you pull the inspiration for that extra “oomph!” in your books

I try to imagine what women dream about in a lover as in actual day dreams that stretch the boundaries a little bit, then I try to portray them in a believable fashion.

11: Dahlia: What do you think is the sexiest spot on a man’s body? ☺

Actually, there are two things about a man's body I find sexy. A man with wide shoulders and big, rough hands that show he works and can be gentle too.

12: Dahlia: If you could have one hot guy for a day to do your bidding who would it be and what will he be doing?

John Cena from WWE. I'd just like to sit and talk with him. Not only is he easy on the eyes, he strikes me as mischievous and witty. Now if I wasn't happily married, I could think of many things for him to do...

13: Dahlia: Who are some of your favorite writers? Do you find it hard to get personal time for reading between your writing schedule?

I love Phillipa Gregory's work, Tess Gerritsen, Kathleen Woodiwiss, Stephen King and many others. I'm super picky about material, so if it doesn't get my attention within the first two chapters, the book hits the give-away pile or the PDF is shut down for good. And yes, it's very difficult for me to find personal reading time. I've been on a short break since finishing The Red Storm, so I've been reading material that authors have asked me to review or crit.

14: Dahlia: Zinnia tell us three things that you could not live without?

My family, writing, and coffee.

15: Dahlia: Does your family read and like your books? How do they feel about your writing career?

My father-in-law is probably my biggest fan. He's an avid reader. My husband and kids support my writing and play a big role in keeping my spirit high so I don't get fed up with the bad aspects of publishing and toss in the towel.

16: Dahlia. Zinnia tell us where we could find out more about, any contest you have going on and your books.

One is on my contest page at my website www.zinniahope.com and deals with my novel Conspiracy of Angels. This novel comes out in print May 30th, which is when I'll announce the winner. The winner of that one will receive a goodie basket/bag. The other is at Lavender Isis press http://lavenderisis.com/theredstormbuy.html and runs until May 15th. The winner of that one will receive a piece of The Red Storm's mythology. LOL, actually it's a sterling silver chain and pendant with a 1-carat garnet set in it. It's worth approximately $80 and symbolizes the bloodgem pendant that the hero gives my heroine, Jordanne.

That guys and dolls was the author of some of the most heat filled books I have ever read. Zinnia Hope will sizzle your mind and fill your imagination with her books.!
Until next week luvvies!

Sabrina Luna's Book Tour Rolls On!

She's a day early but we are pleased as punch Sabrina is here with us today!!

Hi Everyone! Thanks for joining me on another stop onmy Mini-Online Blog Tour!
Today I’m visiting my fellow‘Midnight Muse’ Dahlia Rose. Thanks, Dahila, for having me here!

My ebook, HOT PURSUIT, will be released this coming Saturday, May 5th, at Mardi Gras Publishing. (www.mardigraspublishing.com)

Here’s a sexy little blurb:

When Cassie Meadows arrives home for her parents' wedding anniversary, she's pulled over for speeding by a cop….her ex-boyfriend Steve Tanner. She can't believe her old beau has turned into an Adonis in uniform! Steve Tanner's flame is rekindled when he encounters Cassie too, but she's ready to lead him on a hot pursuit he'll never forget!

I love this story because it’s a reunion story. Two young lovers parted by misunderstandings and now brought back together. It’s about love and forgiveness, but it also has a hardy dose of sexy fun, fast paced action and dash of hometown humor.

If you’ve read VELVET SEDUCTION, you’ll be familiar with some of the supporting characters in the small town of Mount Hill. I think that was one of the reasons I enjoyed writing HOT PURSUIT was to revisit the small town I created for my other novella and get reacquainted with a few of the supporting characters too!

VELVET SEDUCTION is currently available at Mardi GrasPublishing and look for HOT PURSUIT releasing May 5th!

Thx & Hugs,

Sabrina

Interview with Marci Baun "Editor and Chief of Freya Bower and Wild Child Publishing

The blog went up a little late this week! Due to blogger not letting me in.But never fear through persistance and a few cuss words...LOL here it is!
Don't forget Thursday May 3rd is the day that Sabrina Luna will be on our blog on her mini book tour!!

Ladies and Gents. We have a treat today. Marci Baun has given us an interview!

Dahlia: This is first time for the blog this week. We have the editor and chief of Freya’s Bower and Wild Child Publishing, Marci Baun with us! Welcome Marci! Please tell us a little more about you and what you do?

Thank you, Dahlia! I am delighted to be here.

Well, I have three hats, really. I not only am the editor-in-chief of both Freya’s Bower and Wild Child Publishing, but I am a stay-at-home mom, which is by far the hardest of the three jobs. (smile) My toddler keeps me very busy. I do most of my work for the two publishing houses after she goes to bed and during her nap…when she takes one.

2: Dahlia: It might be quite a job managing both publishing companies, how do you keep everything coordinated and running smoothly?

That’s probably one of the biggest challenges. Some days run smoother than others. It’s a matter of organization and focusing on one project at a time with a list of what is to be done next.

3: Dahlia: In the midst of all your work, do you write as well?

On occasion. Usually, my writing consists of a short, humorous article rarely topping 500 words, but I’ve managed 1200 before. Although I’d enjoy writing more, I don’t really have the time to do it.

4: Dahlia: Tell us about some of the books that are out with both Publishing companies?

Well, Wild Child Publishing is strictly a mainstream fiction publisher. We publish all the genres you would find in mainstream fiction. Our catalog consists mostly of psychological thriller, horror, literary short story collection, and a romantic suspense. We have two or three more in the horror/psychological thriller in edits. I would like to expand our offerings.

Freya’s Bower is strictly romance and erotica. We welcome all genres and currently have over 50 titles available.

5: Dahlia: Marci are either Freya’s Bower or Wild Child Publishing open for submissions?

Yes. We are always open to well-written material. (smile) You can check out our submission guidelines at: http://www.wildchildpublishing.com/content/view/32/100/
And http://www.freyasbower.com/content/view/12/31/

6: Dahlia: So Marci what is a typical day for you like?

A typical day? There is no such thing. I spend a good portion taking care of my toddler. When I am not doing that, I am on my computer editing, promoting, and planning what comes next. It’s a never-ending process. Some days require more computer time than others.

7: Dahlia: Are there any new horizons opening up for the companies this year?

We are increasing our print books for both places. You will also see ads for both companies in the appropriate magazines and online places. (Ex. Affaire de Coeur, Romantic Times for Freya’s Bower and Cemetery Dance and the like for Wild Child Publishing.)

8: Dahlia: Do both publishing company offer print contracts and what are the guidelines for that?

We have some guidelines we’ve offered to our authors. We require a specific number of ebooks to be sold of each novel length ebook before we will print that title. If the author exceeds that number, it goes to press.

9: Dahlia: Behind the scenes Marci when the computer is off and your day is done. What would we find you doing?

Sleeping. (grin) You doubt me? LOL It’s true, although on occasion, you’ll find me singing, but the day isn’t necessarily done at that point. I also have other duties, like dinner and the usual stuff you do around the house. (Most of these are shared with my husband, except the cooking.)

10: Dahlia: Out of all of the genres that both companies offer what is your favorite and what genre would you like to see more submissions in?

Historic paranormal romance. I love the combination of these genres and would love to see more of this at both. I would love more historical period.

11: Dahlia: What do you think is the sexiest spot on a man’s body? J

Oh, now that depends on the man, but for the most part, a sincere smile and beautiful eyes is a definite plus. If a man has an amazing body, I enjoy a six-pack stomach and broad shoulders. This comes from years of competitive swimming and being surrounded by just such bodies.

12: Dahlia: If you could have one hot guy for a day to do your bidding who would it be and what will he be doing?

That would be my husband. Um, various things, including massaging my feet, doing the laundry and cleaning the house. (grin) Yeah, mundane, but my wants have changed with the age. Besides, we have a great sex life. (grin)

13: Dahlia: Who are some of your favorite writers? Do you find it hard to get personal time for reading between all the works you do?

I have very little personal time for reading, and when I do, it’s impossible to turn off the editor. As a result, many of my favorite writers’ works are not my favorite any more. However, Jane Eyre is still one of my favorite books and I’ve enjoyed the occasional Jude Devereux book, although not the last one I read. The one before, yes, but not this last one. I don’t even remember the title.

14: Dahlia: What are some of your favorite things in life Marci?

A good book, swimming, my family, helping an author perfect their manuscript, and Baskin Robbins rocky road ice cream.

15: Dahlia: Tell us where we can find out more about you, Freya’s Bower and Wild Child Publishing?

You can find Freya’s Bower at: http://www.freyasbower.com/ and Wild Child Publishing at http://www.wildchildpublishing.com/

That ladies and gents was the editor, Marci Baun giving us some great tidbits about two excellent publishing companies and some great behind the scene info about herself!

Interview with Larianne Wills

Dahlia: Today we have Larriane Wills aka Larion Wills with us on the blog! I had the most wonderful pleasure of meeting this author in person and she is absolutely charming! Welcome Larriane!

1: Dahlia: First off tell us how you got into the world of writing?

Thank you, Dahlia. I’ve happy to be here. Before I start answering your questions I want to tell you what a pleasure it was meeting you and you fiancee. It was a thrill for me to meet someone I’d met online, visited with, and whose work I’ve read. I promised not to blow your image so I’ll only say I admire someone who does as much as you do. Okay, now how I got into the writing world. An accident actually. I don’t mean I accidentally wrote something. I’ve been doing that for years, but finding a publisher who liked what I wrote happened by accident. I was a web surfing for agents with the thought I mind that I needed an agent ( who knew the ins and outs that I didn’t) to do the submitting for me. There was this little box on the side of some page I ended up on with a funny looking kangaroo. It was a publisher, not an agent, but I thought what the hell (hope cussing is okay here) and gave it a click. I cruised their site, liked what I read and thought why not, eliminate one step by going to a publisher instead of an agent and save 10%. I send in a submission, they send back that they wanted the manuscript. Four weeks later they send back a nice letter telling me they liked the premise, but thought it was weak in the middle. I asked if I worked on it would they read it again. I revised it, send it back and they accepted it. That was The Knowing. I sent in four after that, they’ve accepted all four. I can tell you I walked round in a daze for quite awhile.

2: Dahlia: The Knowing was such a compelling story. Could you tell the readers more about it?

It’s a historical fantasy, a world and time different from our own. Garran is a man trapped by fate, knowing he was hunted and why. He didn’t believe he could change his fate, just stay ahead of it, and held himself back from allowing himself to love He fought off his attraction to Fayahstella, walked away from her, but fate again kept him from walking away from Miranna even though he knew it could never be. That’s one part of the plot. Garran staying free of the betrayal and intrigues of two countries and two powerful religions, an evading army and assassins sent to kill him is another. I promise it isn’t as complicated as it sounds.

3: Dahlia: Do you have any new releases we should know about and where can we find them?

Looking Glass Portal came out just a few weeks ago. It’s a science fiction, very little romance, but lots of suspense. It’s in a science fiction setting, but not loaded with a lot of technical facts or supposition, just a good story with alien humanoids and creatures on a space ship. The tag line is, ‘are like minds connected even through the vastness of space with what is legend and myth in one world reality in another.’ That’s how I get away with having a Pegasus. What you can do with sci-fi is wonderful. It’s available online in print at Amazon.com and in e-book formats at Swimming Kangaroo Books. Links for both to take you straight to them are on my website. After that three romances, soft, sensual, and historical, will be released in Oct, Nov, and Dec of this year, all under the pen of Larion Wills.

4: Dahlia: What are you working on now?

Getting myself organized so I can get back to writing. I told you at first I felt like I was in a daze. Well I can out in a jumble with things I’ve never had to deal with before, editing the books in process and promoting primarily. Promoting really takes a lot of time. I’ve had trouble getting myself to concentrate with so many interruptions. As soon as I get myself settled, I’ll start whipping some more manuscripts into submitting form.

5: Dahlia: Larriane what is a typical day for you like? Is there any set pattern you follow to let our muse out to create?

Pattern, ha, not single one. I take that back. I get up every morning and go straight to the computer to check my emails for new edits to do, then personal messages, then loop messages. From there it depends, maybe a little TV before my shower, before I go on to whatever the day has waiting for me. My muse has been nagging at me something terrible. That’s why I want to get organized. She’s a driving little witch and once I let her out. Everything else goes to the way side. My husband can barely get me to answer, and he’s lucky if he can hold my attention for more than ten minutes. He knows he’s lost me when my eyes glaze over.

6: Dahlia: What are some of the goals you have set for yourself in your writing career?

To get more done and submitted. Beyond that, nothing much at this point. I’m still learning what has to be done after the book is published to make it a seller.

7: Dahlia: Are there any scenes in your books that you find difficult to write?

The endings. I always seem to have trouble with the endings. I’ve told the story, wrapped up all the odds and ends, everyone is going to live happily ever after (all my books end happy ever after) but tying up that last little knot is something I usually end up doing over and over.

8: Dahlia: Behind the scenes Larriane when the computer is off and your day is done. What would we find you doing?

Uh, well the computer doesn’t go off until I head for bed, but in-between when I’m not working I read a lot, watch a little TV, every Frid. morning I take my mother shopping, and once in a while my husband and I go out for dinner with friends. Nothing very exciting. We have big family get togethers for holidays and this semester I started American Sign Language classes at the community college. As you know from when we met, I have a pretty severe hearing loss. My daughter is taking the class with me, primarily to be able to tell me what’s going on during those big get-togethers. She decided that at the last one when she saw me sitting off to the side by myself because I couldn’t understand what anyone was saying. She was so determined she shook me out of my procrastination tree to go with her. I’ve got to admit it didn’t bother me nearly as much as it did her. I’ve gotten used to being excluded from group conversations. I withdraw because it’s frustrating, asking people to repeat things, and it tires me out trying to listen. Now I bet that was more than you wanted to know.

9: Dahlia: What genre does your books fall into and are you going to try any future endeavors in a new genre.

You could pretty much toss the manuscripts I have into the air and they’d fall in one or the other. I haven’t written any erotic, werewolves, vampires or shapeshifters although I do have a series in rough drafts that I believe would qualify as erotic. That’s a ways off to submitting. As for werewolves and vampires, I think about it, but at this point I haven’t anything cooking or plans for any genre I haven’t tried.

10: Dahlia: What do you think is the sexiest spot on a man’s body? J

Since we’re not talking about his face, I think it’s a nice firm chest and abs. Maybe nice wide shoulders. Or-we’re talking about hunks right, not the average guy on the street?

11: Dahlia: If you could have one hot guy for a day to do your bidding who would it be and what will he be doing?

If we’re pretending I’m not happily married, I’d want him to do what any red-blooded female would want. If we remember I have a husband, yard work. My yard’s a real mess right now. Ummm as to who? There are so many gorgeous hunks out there. Some one tall, dark and handsome or maybe tall, blond and handsome. Hell I’m not that choosy as long as he’s tall, handsome and not a redhead. Just make him drooling good-looking and well built.

12: Dahlia: Who are some of your favorite writers? Do you find it hard to get personal time for reading between your writing schedule?

Right now I’m into Karen Robarbs, Amanda Quick (in all her names) and JD Robbs to name a few. Any time Elisabeth Peters puts out one I get it and really wish she would do more under Barbara Michaels. As to finding time to read, I do that much like I do my writing, I start a book and only do what I absolutely have to until it’s finished. Drives my husband crazy.

13: Dahlia: What are some of your favorite things in life Larriane. The things you could not live without?

Assuming you mean outside of my reading and writing, I have to have my family.

14: Dahlia: Does your family read and like your books? How do they feel about your writing career?

I have two family members who are readers, a brother and uncle. They’ve both read both books and gotten extra copies to hand out to their extended family and friends. My oldest son who had never read a complete book before has read The Knowing and demanded a copy of Looking Glass Portal. That’s two really good examples of how supportive they all are. They are thrilled for me and proud of me. They brag about me and my husband not only hands out chaps books at the local café, he goes with me to all the conventions and book festivals I’ve attended. All of them, close and extended, couldn’t be happier for me.

15: Dahlia. Larriane tell us where we could find out more about, any contest you have going on and your books.

I run a monthly contest on my site as well as updates, excerpts and links for purchase. I’ve got a blog there too although I’m awful about updating it. I am a procrastinator. Guess I better tell you the addy. http://www.larriane.com. My email addy is there too.

Larriane Wills everyone, Author and one of the most extraordinary people you could ever meet! Look for her books and check back at her website often. I certainly do!
Until next week luvvies!
